Land for Exchange near Botanical Garden valued at $1.2M While New Deilhi Land valued at $110M

The controversial land which government has claimed to be lying idle for nearly 100 years, near Botanical Garden is valued at $1.2 million dollars, while the land given to Fiji in the prime area of New Delhi by the Indian government, is valued at $110 million dollars.

Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources Ashneel Sudhakar says the size of the land is 6,467 square metres from the portion of 53,494 square metres.

He added that the subject land is State owned land and has been idle for almost 100 years now.

The subject land will not affect the Suva Botanical Garden because it is not within but beside the Botanical Gardens.

Opposition MP, Ro Filipe inissted that the landowners should be consulted with to which Minister for Lands responded that the issue regarding landowners was dealt with in a court case in 2010 and the land under spotlight was a State land.
