Minister Launches Women’s Day after saying “women should work harder and stop accusing men for their lack of achievements.”

Minister for Industry, Trade, Tourism Mrs. Premila Kumar today launched the International Women’s Day with the theme: “Think Equal, Build Smart, Innovate for Change” after making a comment at Fiji Institute of Accountants Women in Leadership inaugural event.

Minister Kumar said that women should work harder and stop accusing men for their lack of achievements.

The Fiji Women’s Crisis Centre has strongly condemned her recent comments and said that it is highly inappropriate and depicts a clear lack of understanding by the Minister, of problems faced by thousands of women in our community.

Launching of the International Women’s Day was attended by Government officials, diplomatic corp and stakeholders.
