Fiji Defeats Samoa 31-19, Qualifies for Cup Quarters Against New Zealand.

The Fiji Sevens team has qualified for the cup quarterfinals after defeating Samoa 31-12 in the last pool match.

Fiji now plays New Zealand in Cup Quarterfinals.

Fiji started the game with a 2nd minute try from Tuimaba to give them a head start with 7 – 0.

Samoa replied with a unconverted try from Johny Samuelu in the corner to seal 5 points in the first half.

However, Sevuloni Mocenacagi of Fiji proved too powerful as he ran straight under the post to put Fiji further ahead 14-5.

Alusio Naduva also scored a stunner before the half time as Fiji led 19 -5 against Samoa.

Come second half, Little Magician, Jerry Tuwai showed his magic as he foot raced to score for Fiji, making it 26 – 5.

However Samoa’s Motuga didn’t give up yet as they came with a try in the second half to close the gap to 26 -12.

Fiji’s Terio Veilawa replied with a try to seal the deal 31- 12 until the last minute try from Samoa to make many edit the points to 31- 19.
