Ex-Mayor of Ba and former NFP Politician fueled more racism after anti-semitic remarks.

Ahmed Bhamji, chairman of the Mt Roskill Masjid E Umar, ex-Mayor of Ba and former National Federation Party politician fueled the fire of racism and infuriated many Jews after he accused them of being behind the Christchurch terror attack.

On Saturday, a group called Love Aotearoa Hate Racism organised a rally for the victims in Auckland’s Aotea Square.

Ahmed Bhamji, a Fijian businessmen, ex-Mayor of Ba and former National Federation Party politician of Bavadra Governemnt, gave a speech questioning where the gunman got his funding from. He said he suspected it came from “Mossad” and “Zionist business”.

“I am not afraid to say I feel Mossad is behind this.”

Mossad is the foreign intelligence agency of Israel responsible for covert operations, intelligence gathering and counterterrorism.

“I stand here and I say I have a very very strong suspicion that there’s some group behind him and I am not afraid to say I feel Mossad is behind this.”

One person can be heard shouting in support: “It’s the truth. Israel is behind this. That’s right!”

A video of the speech was posted to Twitter, where it’s caused outrage in the Jewish community.

The New Zealand Human Rights Commission has weighed in and condemed Bhamji’s comments.

The commission says that “prejudice against Jewish people has no place in New Zealand. We must condemn racism, hate and anti-semitism whenever we see it.”

Love Aotearoa Hate Racism says they do not echo the same sentiments as Ahmed Bhamji and they believe that it wass unfortunate that they did not appear to put its anti-racism message into practice, by challenging or condemning the racism in their midst .

When New Zealand’s news organization Newshub contacted Bhamji, he seemed to maintain his stance.

“Bhamji defended his speech, saying an inquiry is needed into where the alleged gunman got his money from. He didn’t offer any proof to his speculation Mossad had funded the alleged gunman.” Newshub wrote.

“Mossad is up to all these things,” he said. “When I talk about Mossad, why should the Jews be upset about it? Give me an answer?”

Good that the NZ Human Rights Commission stood up to him.. Islam’s hatred and non tolerance of Jews and Christians is what is fuelling majority of terrorist attacks of the 21st Century.. The attack on the Christchurch mosques are just but a drop in the ocean compared to the series of Muslims attack on Christians and Jews going on week in week out all around the world..
