Prime Minister Fails to Reach Lau Due to Adverse Weather Condition

Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama left Suva last night to open the Lau Provincial Council Meeting in Lakeba.

However due to adverse weather conditions and rough seas, the head of government has decided to return to Suva, prioritising the safety of the crew and the passengers.

The leader of the government was also supposed to hold talanoa sessions with the people of Lau.

The Assistant Minister for iTaukei Affairs Adi Selai Adimaitoga will now be opening the Lau Provincial Council meeting in Lakeba this morning.

There is still rain and flooding throughout the country and Fijians are urged to stay safe and listen to weather updates.
