The National Secretary FTUC has been arrested by police from a tripartite meeting that was happening between WAF Management and FTUC General Secratery in Suva, discussing the way forward to avert the May 3rd and 4th meeting.
Anthony was arrested in Suva after riot police marched into FTUC Headquaters.
Police Commissioner Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho says he has been arrested for allegedly breaching the law.
Meanwhile, several lockout employees of WAF were arrested in Lautoka earlier today.
The National Union of Workers claims that the Fiji Police Force has detained Water Authority of Fiji employees who were earlier this morning locked out of the various depots around the country.
Mere Raivatege, Senior Industrial Relations Officer of NUW says that the locked out employees of WAF were gathered in a private land which belonged to the union when Fiji Police Force officers who according to the Fiji Times came prepared with riot gears, came in, in 3 tonne trucks and “taken in the workers.”

It is also believed that the Fiji Police Force have also taken in another Industrial Relations Officer of NUW, Mr Manueli Yawayawa with them.
A meeting is currently underway in Suva between FTUC General Secratery and the management of Water Authority of Fiji.
Mere cliams that the workers just wanted to sit in the private land of the union and await for the results until Fiji Police Force took them in for questioning.
