The Fiji Metereological Centre says that a Damaging Heavy Swell Warning remains in force for the southern coastal areas of: Mamanuca group, Viti-Levu, Kadavu, Beqa, Vatulele, Lomaiviti and Southern Lau group.
A Damaging Heavy Swell Warning also remains in force for the waters of: Southwest Viti Levu and Mamanuca waters, Kadavu passage, Southern Koro sea and southern Lau waters.
Situation: A high pressure system together with a low pressure system to the far south of Fiji generates and directs heavy southerly swells towards the southern and western parts of the Fiji group.
Forecast for southern coastal areas of Mamanuca group, Viti-Levu, Kadavu, Beqa, Vatulele, Lomaiviti and Southern Lau group: Expect sea flooding especially during high tide.
Over open waters of Southwest Viti Levu waters, Kadavu passage, Mamanuca waters, southern Koro seas and southern Lau waters: Expect damaging heavy swells with heights upto 4.5m. Strong southeast winds 20 to 25 knots. Rough seas.
