A total of 59 passengers travelling in various buses in Western Division were fined $150 each, for breach of E-Transport regulations.
The Land Transport Authority says that the 59 passengers and 47 drivers were fined $150 each during its two week intensive campaign to ensure drivers and passengers adhere to the E-Transport regulation.
Out of 47 drivers charged, 13 were of Khan Buses, 8 from Classic Buses, six each from Shahbu Dean and West Buses, 5 from Pacific Transport, 4 each from Nadi and Lautoka Genera Buses and one from M.R.Khan Buses.
The driver and the passengers were issued infringement notice for either receiving cash or paying fare with cash.
The LTA has reminded the public that failure to adhere to the notice will result in a fine of $150.
