Midshipman Mereseini Sokoilagi, Fiji’s First Ever Female Navy Officer to Graduate from Overseas Establishment

Among the hundreds of Sailors and JOCT 19/01 Officers who graduated at Devonport Naval Base yesterday was Midshipman Mereseini Sokoilagi, Republic of Fiji Navy’s first ever female navy officer to graduate from an overseas Officer Training establishment.

Midshipman Mereseini Sokoilagi was also surrounded by other graduating Fijian navy servicemen.

Rand Midshipman Peni Koroitubuna also successfully graduated from the Royal New Zealand Navy Officers Training School today. Midshipman Koroitubuna was the parade commander for the pass-out and was awarded the Captain Welles trophy.

Commander Fiji Navy, Captain Humphrey Tawake and Master at Arms Warrant Officer Class One Sitiveni Jitoko was in Auckland to witness the huge milestone for the Royal Fiji Navy.
