Cyber Unit Investigates Viral Sex Video Circulated on Messenger

The Cyber Crime Unit of Fiji Police Force is investigating the origin and circulation of viral sex video of two young men having sex in a washroom.

According to Fijivillage, Police Spokeswomen Ana Naisoro has confirmed that the investigation is underway.

The video which shows two young men having sex was widely circulated on Facebook messenger platform.

It is illegal to circulate videos or any electronic communication which is likely to cause harm under the 2018 Online Safety Act.

A person who commits an offence under subsection (1) is liable upon conviction to— (a) in the case of an individual, a fine not exceeding $20,000 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 5 years or both.
