Internet users will now have to pay 10 cents more for every gigabyte of data they use after government successfully passed a bill to amend Telecommunications Amendment Act (2019).

While speaking on the motion, Attorney General and Minister for Communications said that the money collected through the communication levy will go towards a development trust fund.

Mr Khaiyum says that for inorder to invest in the rapid growing communication sector, we need to have funds to be able to invest in it.

Fijians should expect data prices to go up since they will have to pay $0.10 extra for every GB of data used.
