The Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission has announced a decrease in petroleum prices effective from 1st of October.
Motor spirit will decreased from $2.18 to $2.11 per litre while, Premix will decreased from $2.02 to $1.97 per litre.
Meanwhile, Kerosene will decreased from $1.62 to $1.59 per litre and Diesel will decline from $1.89 to $1.85 per litre.
The price decrease comes amidst escalating instability in the oil industry after Houthi rebels attacked two Saudi Arabian oil facilities.
Consumer Commission says that Fiji has a 45 day oil reserve.
International experts say that if the two Saudi facilities do not become fully functional within weeks, prices of crude oil is expected to increase.
