Dennis Ifunaoa sealed the deal for the Lions in the first minute of first extra spell.
The Courts IDC final between Suva and Labasa at Prince Charles Park had gone into extra-time after both teams were locked nil-all at the end of 90th minute.
In the 91st minute, Labasa’s Dennis Ifunaoa beautifully turned away from the Suva defender and aimed right at the goal. Suva’s goalkeeper Emori Ragata dived to save the ball but had no chance at all.
Labasa manged to hold their defence as they progressed into the second half of extra time. With the blow of the final whistle by the referee, Labasa secured the Inter District Championship trophy for the fifth time.
Labasa has previously won the Inter District Tournament four times champions, while Suva has won the title 13 times.
