Bus Driver Allegedly Assaulted by Remand Prisoners Despite Under Police Supervision: Lawyer

Bus Driver Jattan Singh, who was remanded with two counts of dangerous driving occasioning death, two counts of dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm and one count of dangerous driving was allegedly physically assaulted by remand prisoners.

According to FBC News, Jattan’s lawyer this morning told the Judge in Nausori magistrates court that her client was assaulted while in remand blocks.

She says that the alleged assault happened despite under police supervision.

Jattan’s lawyer also argued bail.

Bail hearing will be heard tomorrow.

Meanwhile, prosecution has argued for Jattan to be kept in remand fearing safety outside.

Jattan Singh was driving the bus which was involved in Lakena accident.
