Fijian Government Loans $139.59 Million from World Bank

World Bank will lend $139.59 Million in loan to Fijian Government.

The World Bank Group has approved a loan request of $139.59 million for the Fijian Government.

According to FBC reports, the $139.59 million dollar loan will be used by the Fijian Government to strengthen its medium-term fiscal sustainability, improve the country’s business climate, and build resilience to climate change.

Minister for Finance Aiyaz Saiyed Khaiyum says that the funding is to bolster our fiscal sustainability.

With the addition of this new operation, the World Bank currently has active projects in Fiji totaling $262 million (US$120 million) in commitments across sectors including telecommunications, transport and climate resilience.
